Our new gardeners arrived at 915 -- that's 830 Cyprus time LOL! They quickly got to work cutting all the hedges back into shape and cutting and shaping some of the larger shrubs. Bit of tree surgery too. I was impressed. They worked hard all day in very hot conditions and did a really good job. They start weekly gardening from next Saturday. A couple of hours a week to keep things under control and keep everything growing.
Fi and I spent the day in and out of the pool. So hot again. Bob and Stuart worked to fix one of the underwater pool lights that hasn't worked in a while. This involved digging the electrics out of some concrete where they had been buried in a previous bodged repair. By the end of the day they had it all sussed and now if we can buy a new lamp tomorrow we will have two functioning pool lights again.
Had dinner out by the pool tonight under the massive full moon. The moonlight was so strong we really didn't need any lights. Absolutely beautiful and utterly quiet except for the cicadas. Trying to decide if I will set an alarm for 5am when the eclipse should be at its peak and go out and watch it. With such clear skies it should be fantastic.
