Villa Rockheart provides a luxurious level of accommodation
combined with the comforts of home, giving you the ideal base for your holiday in Northern Cyprus. The wonderful location of the property cannot be exaggerated—the views in every direction are quite breathtaking. The phrase “million dollar view” could have been created for this property. The villa sits just below the village of Ilgaz, which is about 20 minutes west of Kyrenia (Girne) and about 40 minutes from Ercan airport. The beaches are an easy 5—10 minutes drive. The situation is ideal because you have all the benefits of being very close to restaurants, nightlife and water sports, but in a very serene and tranquil location. Just 5 minutes walk away in the village is a traditional bakery where you can buy your bread warm from the oven. There is also a café, and a 5 star winery with tasting room/tapas restaurant, and a fine dining restaurant. Downstairs, the villa comprises a spacious marble double height hallway leading to a large lounge furnished with deeply comfortable couches and armchairs. There is a 50 inch satellite television, dvd player, stereo and cd player. An internet based tv system provides live and catch up access to all UK tv channels plus Sky Channels including Sky Sports, Netflix plus 1000s of films and tv series on demand. Wireless broadband internet access is provided for laptop users. There are hundreds of books in our well stocked library, music cds and many dvds for you to choose from. We also have a stock of games, children's toys and pool floats. There is plenty of room for everyone to relax in comfort and privacy. As you would expect, the furnishings are of good quality and decorations are stylishly tasteful. The villa is wonderful for family get togethers and we have hosted families from around the world who have chosen to meet here. As well as the toys for children, we have a travel cot, stairgate, high chair and stroller for your use. All of the downstairs rooms give access to the enormous, shaded terrace that runs the full length of the house. This spacious outdoor room furnished with comfortable modular sofas and a marble dining set has wonderful sea views and will become your favourite place to enjoy a cocktail while watching the sunset. In winter you can warm yourself in front of the fireplace in the lounge and dine in the formal dining room. The modern kitchen with spectacular granite worktops comes complete with every convenience— washing machine, dishwasher, built in oven, hob, huge fridge/freezer, hot/ice water dispenser, microwave, Nespresso machine drip coffee maker, Pavoni Italian espresso/cappuccino machine, electric fruit juicer, Kitchenaid blender — most everything you could need or want. There is an additional large dining area in the kitchen and access to both the main terrace and the swimming pool terrace. Upstairs there are four luxurious double bedrooms, all air conditioned/heated. Three of them have king sized beds and one has twin beds. All the beds have extremely high quality mattresses and are furnished with superb bed linens— you can be sure of a comfortable night’s sleep. They all have built in wardrobes and plenty of storage. Best of all, you will wake up to views of the mountains and the sea. The master bedroom has an en-suite wet room with rain shower and the other bedrooms share a bathroom complete with a massive walk-in rain shower. Two of the bedrooms have private balconies and all of them have large picture windows allowing you to wake up to the fantastic sea views. The mountainside location and constant gentle breeze keeps the property cooler than those at sea level. The stairways and downstairs rooms have marble floors throughout which are both luxurious and wonderfully cool on hot days. The bedrooms have wooden floors and the bathrooms are ceramic tiled. Outside, the extra large 11m x 6m swimming pool is a crystal clear delight all day and is lit for your enjoyment on warm summer nights. One of its most appealing features is that it is completely private and not overlooked in any respect, giving total privacy. A Roman end gives easy access for the young and old. It is approximately 1m deep in the shallow end, deepening to 2m at the deep end. The spaciously wide terraces around the pool are ideal for enjoying both sun and shade on the comfortable loungers and terrace furniture. There is a romantic curtained pergola covering part of the swimming pool terrace and dining area. On summer evenings you have the choice to dine in a variety of outdoor locations, in the garden under the beautiful trees, around the pool or on the main terrace. There is a large brick built BBQ on the pool terrace with marble work surface for you to use. Beside the pool there is yet another dining area with a glass table and chairs under the pergola - perfect for lunch! Next to the bbq we have a traditional wood fired oven which produces wonderful breads, pizzas and roasted meats. Our roast leg of garlic lamb is mouth wateringly good straight from the oven. There are delightful gardens surrounding the property planted with bougainvillea, jasmine, almond, jacaranda, figs, orange, grapefruit, lemon, loquat trees. Guests can feel free to pick their own fruit as it ripens. There is even a wonderful grapevine which is scrambling over the terrace roof, just a stretch from the couches to pick your own grapes. Beyond the garden borders the hillsides are green with olive trees, firs, wild thyme and almond trees, all adding to the fantastic views. Our gardens literally blend into the wild mountainsides. Villa Rockheart and its gardens are extremely private and you will not be overlooked by anybody whilst enjoying the pool and terraces. There are shady sitting areas under our trees for you to enjoy the views.... a book.... an evening drink to watch the sunset... The villa is in one of the most idyllically peaceful spots imaginable and yet only minutes from all the life of the coastal area.
