It may be the end of October but out here we are still eating all three meals outside. It's still very much warm enough. To me, eating dinner outside is the ultimate guilty luxury. We get to do it so little in the UK and never reliably! It was a spectacular sunset tonight, great sky with just some clouds left and lightning off out to sea. Tonight we had yet another bbq out on the terrace. Bob broiled up some burgers, steak, some sweet red peppers, a baked potato. I cooked off the last of the green beans - note to self: must get more in the market on Wednesday! I lit as many candles and oil lamps as I could quickly lay hands on. The little Romanesque olive oil lamps are genius. It was nearly a full moon again tonight. Seems ages ago I got up for the Blood Moon Eclipse but it was only a month ago. It's so still and quiet up here at night. We look down the hill and see all the twinkling lights of the coastal strip and the large Merit Royal hotel. It's all only 5-10 minutes away but seems like another world. We are so lucky to be able to sit outside this late in the year dressed in the lightest of summer clothes. It was a lucky day when we discovered this place nine years ago. No regrets.... Just wish you were here to enjoy it with us.... |
